Program Shows 200-600% More Growth on Student ACT and SAT Scores, Compared to National Average

Schools implementing ChalkTalk see significant improvements in a fraction of the control group’s time

NEW YORK CITY, NY / FEBRUARY 28, 2020 — After releasing its biggest software update to date at the start of the fall 2019 semester, ChalkTalk has published its latest round of impact studies. These studies demonstrate significant SAT and ACT score improvements among students users across the country.

In just 10 to 15 weeks, students using ChalkTalk are experiencing 2 to 6 times more growth on the SAT and ACT compared to their peers who have received an entire year of traditional classroom instruction. The fully adaptive content delivery platform generates instructional materials for high school English Language Arts (ELA) and math classes at a classroom, small group, and individual level.

With the latest ChalkTalk release, teachers can view student activity in real time per student, per class, and per topic with a new live data dashboard. Teachers can also create and customize their own course schedule to plan out their scope and sequence. Review classes were updated to adaptively select the top weaknesses for each student and administer practice questions and teaching notes targeting these weaknesses. Finally, new “How To” content snippets deliver easy-to-follow tutorials for every major feature of the platform, facilitating professional development.

For as little as 20 hours of ELA or math instruction time (or 40-50 hours for both), teachers can use the technology to enhance classroom time and help students prepare for standardized tests. Results from the schools are then calculated using official SAT and ACT placement and exit tests. Recent successes include:

“We’re very pleased to see such strong results in academic proficiency and growth at schools using ChalkTalk,” said ChalkTalk founder and CEO Mohannad Arbaji. “From inner city to rural districts, from public to private, and from charter schools to high-nice schools such as schools for the deaf or art academies, these latest results show the type of real impact ChalkTalk can make in classrooms as we help our users ‘teach amazing.”

“We started from the understanding that, above all else, education is human,” continued Arbaji. ”By using technology to support—not supplant—teachers, ChalkTalk ensures that the human element remains central to the classroom, while students have access to personalized content that translates to measurable results.”
